It has been quite some time since I've had some kind of TV reception. A few years ago when I gave it up completely, TV was pretty worthless - just a bunch of shows like Friends. This doesn't mean I've avoided TV completely, but I've refused to pay to get it. That's not true. I've paid for DVD sets of the truly excellent shows like Babylon 5, Buffy, and the early Simpsons.
But in recent years, there have also been some really good things to come out of the TV ether. Battlestar Galactica is amazing, if a little soap-operaish at times and the Office is great. I've not seen Lost, but I've heard good things about it. The first season of Heros started off a little weak, but became really good. The last few times I've seen the Simpsons, I've been very disappointed. I was recently introduced to Flight of the Conchords, which is an HBO show, but still really funny. So I have hopes that TV has moved on to something better. If good stuff continues to come out, I may conceivably start watching it again.
