Rule number one

Dudes,

Yes, I know that rule number one is to never point a projectile weapeon and something you don't want to shoot. Another big rule is that friends shouldn't discuss politics or religion. Or both. That's all I have to say about that.

Clint, that sounds like a great time. We sat at home and watched CNN's coverage (as did a lot of people). After they declared the victor, we switched to Comedy Central for John Stewart and Stephan Colbert's election show. It was fairly humorous. That's so cool that you were visited by your new representative. I've always wondered where Flagstaff stood politically. In some respects it's like a hippy college town. In others, it's like a city in a red state. It's also a great place to visit in the Summer if you live in Phoenix.

The next thing I'd like to tell you is not so important, but interesting in that we all share the same middle school and high school experience. Within a few years at least. Since I didn't get a real teaching job, I'm subbing. Again. Pretty lame I know, but there's actually very little work involved for the pay. But get this. At the middle school and high schools, not only do the kids go to different classes on different days, the periods are different lengths. I'm so old school I think there should be six 55 minute periods. The same classes every day. But these kids go to three 90 minute periods everyday. Every othere day they're back in the same class. This is for the serious stuff that they get tested on to show how good the school is. Electives are 45 minutes each. To fill in the extra minutes to make the schedule work they have really short periods to do other stuff. I like the 45 minute periods, but the 90 minutes ones really get long. Of course I'm not complaining too much because teachers only work two 90 minute periods a day, leaving the other for planning. Since subs don't plan, that's quite a break. Especially at the end of the day if you can leave early. I did that yesterday, it was pretty cool.

Well, I suppose that I could start talking about the weather, or sign off. I think that I'll sign off for now.

Later.
